There's a stillness to this piece that I noticed the moment I finished it. Sere is what I call it that quiet after the season turns, when everything has settled into itself. That's what this cuff carries.
I formed the five ridges by hand, drawing each bar out along the copper strip and running the chasing hammer down the length until the texture locked in. The wire wraps at the thirds I do those last, winding and tightening by hand until they sit flush and hold everything together without a single solder joint at the knot.
Copper has been worn against the wrist for a long time longer than most people realize. The people who come back for a second piece, or a third, don't usually say much. They just know something is different when they wear it.
I hope this one finds the wrist it's meant for.
